National Advisory Board

The National Advisory Board (NAB) is formed of  members representing the fishing industry, scientists, environmental NGOs, and others with expertise in bycatch from across the UK. Together they provide expert advice, recommendations, and guidance on Clean Catch’s activities and act as a forum for vital knowledge exchange and promoting collaboration on bycatch.

The NAB meets twice per year and may issue formal recommendations or escalate issues to Defra and the Programme Governance Board via majority vote rules. The group has been established as part of Clean Catch’s expansion phase (2024–2026).
